Overview

Pueblo Viejo, located 100 kilometres northwest of Santa Domingo, produces gold, silver and copper. One of the largest gold assets in the world, it began commercial production in 2013. Pueblo Viejo is operated by Barrick Gold Corporation, which owns 70%.

Pueblo Viejo includes two open pits, a processing plant and a tailings storage facility. Ore is removed from the open pit using a conventional truck and shovel method, then crushed, ground, and processed in the carbon-in-leach circuit in the mill.
